Physical Nutrition
"Let Food Be Thy Medicine and Medicine Be Thy Food" ~ Hippocrates
Eating is the first step in an amazing process of turning your food into the trillions of elements needed to build and maintain our cells, tissues and organs. After swallowing your food, your body then must physically transform it into something useful through:
-
digestion
-
assimilation
-
metabolization
-
and energy production
And then it must:
-
detoxify (a VERY big job)
-
and excrete.
When any of these mechanisms are compromised, imbalance and/or dis-ease may occur. If your food is processed and chemically tainted...your body gets overloaded with toxins which compromise your tissues, organs, immune system, detoxification system, endocrine system and energy production.
Digestion requires more energy then any other metabolic process in the body. It should by all means get our undivided attention so we can insure a smooth and efficient ride. However, most people eat completely unconciously and on the run when your body is stressed out. It's no wonder gastrointestinal conditions are an epidemic!
Personalized nutrition is a diet and lifestyle that fits within your own beliefs system and schedule, however, one principle that always stands true, no matter your biochemical makeup is to choose fresh, organic, whole foods. They are ALWAYS superior to processed conventional foods. Personalized nutrition and detoxification can change every aspect of your life in a very BIG way.
Mental Nutrition
"It's far more important to know what type of person has a disease then to know what type of disease the person has".~ Hippocrates
Hippocrates really had it going on! Science is now supporting what Hippocrates
stated in 300 BC...
"what we think, manifests"
Thoughts can literally become toxic chemicals OR beneficial neurotransmitter in
the body, depending on the emotion behind it. Many studies performed
with athletes have revealed that visualization improves skill nearly as
effectively as actually practicing the sport. So what you think is as critical to
vibrant health as the physical food you eat.
Living with a loving heart and an attitude of gratitude can make all the difference in your state of wellness. Positive emotions like love and joy and the feeling of abundance in your life have a very high vibrational frequency while anger, shame, guilt and anxiety have low vibrational frequencies. So emotions you feel actually affect how your food is digested. This explains the connection between stress and gastrointestinal issues.
Emotional Nutrition
"The wound is the place where the LIGHT comes in". ~ Rumi
We all have a story. We all have limiting beliefs and past pains.
I have a very traumatic past...childhood poverty, drugs, sexual assault
and domestic abuse left me with several chronic conditions that
I didn't connect for many years. Working on these personal issues
through meditation, affirmations, self care, Tapping (emotional freedom technique),
creative visualization, forgiveness and conversations with God helps resolve past pains, limiting beliefs and physical ailments.
Spiritual Nutrition
"Silence is the language of God. All else is poor translation" ~ Rumi
Spiritual Nutrition encompasses all of the above. No matter if you are religious
or have a deep spiritual connection, or even if you don't believe in a higher power,
a higher power believes in you. That's why your are here! Call it what you want or
nothing at all...the fact is there is an energy flowing through you that comes from a
Divine source and you have the ability to tap into this divinity and create yourown
spiritual connection with mindfulness, meditation, contemplation and spiritual exercises.
"Natural Forces Within Us are the True Healers of Disease". ~ Hippocrates
You also have energy "way stations" and tracks all throughout your Being. Acupuncture, Reikki, Yoga, and Breathwork tap into and unblock these energy channels. When energy can flow freely throughout your body, it becomes more efficient at processing your food, thoughts and emotions.
